Children
Kristin utilizes play-based techniques with children to create a nurturing space and playful environment where children can freely express themselves through play. Play is the natural language of children, and through it, children tell stories that are important to hear. Kristin provides children with the tools and freedom to explore their emotions, thoughts and experiences in a way that feels comfortable to them. Through the therapeutic process, Kristin helps children build resilience and emotional intelligence, allowing them to develop a stronger sense of self and healthier relationships with others. She also integrates support with parents to aid in their child’s journey.
Teens
It’s important to build a safe space for teens to be known, heard and understood. Kristin’s approach centers on creating a warm, non-judgmental and empathetic environment where adolescents freely express themselves, explore their identity and build self confidence. She believes that each teen is unique and has the innate ability to grow, heal and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness. Through active listening and unconditional positive regard, Kristin works to help teens explore their thoughts, feelings, and experience at their own pace, empowering them to make decisions and discover their own solutions to life’s challenges.
Whether dealing with anxiety, depression, peer pressure, difficult family dynamics or school pressures, her person-centered approach will guide teens to develop greater resilience and find their own path forward in a way that aligns with their values and aspirations.
